Microsoft Word Add-In

docCentral Microsoft Word Add-in

docCentral comes with a Microsoft Word Add-in to annotate and prepare your documents. This allows docCentral to fill in the document for you.

Installation

Step 1

After you have logged in, at the docCentral dashboard, click on the "Download Add-In" button at the top navigation bar. Save the file at a convenient place on your device for usage later.

Step 2

ℹ️

The Microsoft Word Add-in currently only works with Word Online.

On your desired browser, go to www.office.com and sign in. To let docCentral access your document, you will have to make it available on Word Online. There are 2 methods to do so.

This method reduces the likelihood of having unsupported elements in your document. Unsupported elements prevent placeholders from being added to the document.

Firstly, create a new document on Word Online by clicking on "Create" at the left-hand side panel, then "Document: Word".

Creating Word Online document

Following that, open your document locally, and click Ctrl/Cmd + A to select your whole document. On the created document in Word Online, paste the contents by using Ctrl/Cmd + V. Your document is then ready to be used.

Note: You may notice that some elements may be out of place. Do not worry, once your document is downloaded locally, it will render the same as your local copy.

Step 3

At the Word document menus, select "Home" on the top-left hand corner, followed by "Add-Ins",
or its icon: Add-Ins

  • If "Add-Ins" is not visible in the menu, you may have to click the three-dot icon or right arrow icon located on the far right.
  • For previous versions of Microsoft Office, "Add-Ins" may be under the "Insert" tab.

Step 4

If you see the following screen, click the "More Add-ins" button, otherwise skip to the next step.
