Generated Document Error and Alignment Issues

1. Why are the content in my generated document truncated?

This could be because you have used different font types for the content within your Word document. To avoid this, please ensure that the font for the content, including placeholders, are uniform throughout the document.

Truncated Text

2. Why is my document displaying weird symbols?

You may have used erroneous symbols, for instance an apostrophe (’ ) which may not be detected correctly as it is treated as string literals.

Use the right single quotation mark (’) to break string delimiters.

Correct Syntax

Please avoid using non-standard fonts (e.g. Wingdings) or special symbols as they may not be processed correctly by our system and cause unexpected results in the generated document.

3. My document has text overlapped with footnotes. What can I do to resolve this?

Add a page or section breaker to separate the different texts, and align the text to fit into the textbox.

4. Why is my text not displayed when I use the IF placeholder?

You may have accidentally chosen the “Hidden” option of the IF placeholder. To display text when a condition is selected in the corresponding FormSG form, choose the “Displayed” option.

5. Why do my formula placeholders not work?

Ensure that your formula placeholder contains at least one existing numeric / date placeholder in the formula.

You may also have entered an erroneous formula (possibly arithmetic errors). Check that your formula is correct and try again.

6. How can I avoid having signatures overlap on the generated document?

Avoid including multiple signature placeholders in a single cell of a table. Due to the formatting by Signify, it tends to overlap, even though they are in separate lines.

As a workaround, create separate rows in your table, where each Signature placeholder is in an individual row.

7. Is there a preview function to see how my generated document would look like?

docCentral does not have a built-in preview function for documents. We recommend sending the generated document to your own email first to check that all inputs are correctly populated, and formatting appears as expected.
